Who is the candidate?
• People over the age of 18 who have had stable vision for at least one year.
• People with no corneal or other eye diseases.
• Women who are not pregnant.
• People who have a complete and detailed understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of the surgery, and have realistic expectations of the outcomes.
Please note that LASIK cannot correct age-related near focusing problems (presbyopia) because presbyopia is the result of muscle slackening, and LASIK does not improve muscle tone.
How long should I stay in Thailand for such procedure?
14 days are recommended for you to stay in Phuket. LASIK in Phuket required 1 night in the hospital. Your first check-up is on day 1 after the surgery and there will be more check-up on day 4 and day 10.
How is surgery performed?
We provide you with the highest LASIK quality treatment in Phuket. We have a specialist in corneal and refractive surgery to take care of you. The latest Excimer Laser (Wavefront & Non-wavefront System) will be used for complete diagnosis and treatment of the refractive problems: myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. The surgery will take 2 hours include preparation.
What kind of anesthesia will be used?
LASIK use eye drop as a local anesthesia.
What is the pre and post-surgical care?
Pre Surgery:
1. Refrain from wearing contact lenses as follow:
Soft lenses : At least 3 days before the surgery
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) lenses or semi-
hard lenses : At least 14 days before the surgery
2. Wash your hair on the appointment day and avoid make up.
3. Refrain from taking any medications. Unless you have a health problem then you shall consult with your doctor prior.
4. Refrain from alcohol drinks the night before the surgery.
5. Refrain from wearing perfume, deodorant or scents of any kind.
After Surgery:
1. No rubbing; avoid dusty place or smoking area to avoid irritation as the cause of rubbing
2. If you have a long hair, try to put it aside away from your eyes
3. No continuously use your eyes within 24 hours after LASIK to avoid irritation
4. Closes your eyes with eye-closer while sleeping for 7 days
5. Avoid water contact with your eyes
6. No swimming for 3-4 weeks
7. Use antibiotic eye drops for 1 week
8. Frequently us artificial tears
9. Avoid make up around eye area
10. Protect your eyes from the sun by using sun glasses for 1 month
